I've got the socket with an SAE plug.

Does it draw while not in use? I would like to leave it plugged into my pigtail all of the time but want to make sure it won't drain the battery.

I assume it only draws power when a device is plugged in but thought I should check.
Your assumption is correct. It does not draw unless something is plugged into it.

Hello,
Are you able to get a mini (or micro?) usb cover?
These are used on some Garmin GPS devices, such as the nuvi 500/550.
It looks like this (top right):

Maybe something like a waterproof cable clamp?
Thx.

There are no rubber covers in production for the mini/micro connectors. They fit so tightly onto the units that I think it would be impossible to fit in there. I always use dielectric grease on my Garmin connections to avoid corrosion.

The only caps I've seen are the protective ones that sometimes come with a usb cable when you purchase it. I've never seen them for sale.

Can't place order via PayPal

Tried to place my order but your site cannot take the US zipcode that I tried to enter.

Alright if we deal the old school way? I send you the money by PayPal and pm you the shipping address? If so PM me your Paypal address.

Cheers

Is it possible to get the cable and SAE connector separate so I can cut the cord to length then hook it together myself?

Sure, just put your request in the notes in the shopping cart. I'll refund you a couple of bucks for the reduction in labor.

I'm looking to pick up one of these plus one of the tank bag kits. Can I do a pick up from you in person, save you the shipping trouble and me the extra cost?
