Liberty Mills road is a fun road. So is the one to Rapidan. Once again I think I have an idea where the new spot is, but still can't ride due to this thumb lac. Saw my family doc today and now have to see a hand specialist.
Oh and the BBQ is one of the best in the area.

I live between Amacus and Swift run. We should catch up some time.
Yep, that sounds like me. Ever do any off-road? If so, where?

Grab! Very end of Market st. At a yucky spot on the River Anna, lots of debri.

It was in the Wollen Mills area of Charlottesville, and it was a lot of fun getting to this one. I love riding in the city.

If you look closely you'll see the orange front shroud on the front of my KLR way up the hill, just above the Monkey's left eye.

Oh, and Bowtie, you get to name the little guy if you want.

Pics of new tag spot coming soon.

New Tag Spot

TAG -

The little guy is now awaiting for you in the guardrail of a one lane bridge. The road has a 3-digit rt. number. If you add all three digits together you get 12. If you add just 2 of the digits together, the sum will also be 12.

This road has a name, and it's shared with the last name of a Ram-Colt-Raider-Falcon-Packer. Really not much of a Packer though.

Also this road has two traffic circles, two one lane bridges, and two paved sections. The TAG however is in the gravel section.

Sorry for the dark pics, however as daylight fades earlier and earlier these days I fear we may have to get good at deciphering dark pics, using flash and/or photo editing software to lighten up our images.

In fact, we may want to consider doubling the "respect" points for folks that find tags from dark pictures.

And now, on to the pics:

The little guy is inside the guardrail, very close to an orange cone, looking out over a narrow green pasture (sorry, no pics of the pasture):

The camera is directly above the Tag Spot looking back at my bike when taking this pic:

Looking at the bridge from behind the bike:

Let's keep it moving folks!

Dickerson Rd (CO Rd 606) past the airport and chris green lake but before you get to GE.

The v-dot boys were a little weirded out by some guy showing up on a dirt bike to pick up a little purple toy jammed in their guard rail , but once I explained a little some of them thought it was a cool idea. I'll have a new one up by tonight.

not quite the tag spot, but to clarify this:

When I rode past the one at the front of the airport the other day a couple of us did a few high speed laps of the circle since there was no traffic coming. Then as we were leaving we noticed the cop car parked up on the grassy hill overlooking the circle. He must have either been a rider or taking a nap because he didn't budge.

Cameron I knew you were going to get this one! As soon as I saw the post I almost dropped everything and ran out for it - practically my backyard (except on the other side of the airport).

So after a brief conversation with the V-dot crew SeeDo confided in me that such a warm day shouldn't go by without getting our feet a bit wet so we headed up to the hills to see what we could find. After a pause to enjoy the fall colors:

we ended up here:

SeeDo liked it so much he decided to hang out behind the low stone wall next to the 8 ft tall dead stump with woodpecker holes that can be seen in the back ground above.

He is on the side of the river where the cable stops those of us on two wheels from venturing about 2 miles up to C-ville's own version of this popular scuba spot in Belize

If you are going to go after it tomorrow and would like some company, PM and let me know. I would be up for checking out some gravel roads near there and my day is wide open.

also of note and in an amusing bit of irony he has gone from a night stash to a place that is closed after dark.

Traffic circles have a lot of people perplexed. Good god it drives me nuts to see the idiotic things people do at the roundabouts. The one right in front of the airport is worse since it's so small. The close quarters cause a lot of uncertainty.

And regarding the weirded out V-dot guys, I did not know there was going to be any roadwork. That's a pretty new bridge, but I thought it was complete months ago. Sorry 'bout that.

Nothing to be sorry about, it was very entertaining, and certainly neither your fault nor a problem. I got there as they were just setting up for the morning so I'm not sure what exactly they were working on. They did have a Gradall so maybe they were just going to recut the ditches to protect their nice new bridge.

Yeah brain fart, I was thinking that the circles were part of airport Rd, and was trying to figure out a dirt road with traffic circles.

I've been known to add a lap or two on those while heading into work.

Well a tag game isn't much without a couple of nuts to keep it moving.

Visiting nuts welcome.
