i think that's the best looking shape on the DR
do you ever get light reflecting up into the screen at night.
all 4 colors are avail. now i think smoke or dark would look sharp.

for quick release, i was thinking those t bolts and t nuts where the robobrackets attach to turbocity arms would be slick. i've found (on the vstrom i had) once you find your ideal screen position you don't move it. if you can quickly unbolt the screen and the robobrackets together and just be left with the support arms, you can quickly go to off-road mode. this way you won't have those robobrackets still hanging out there standing up and out nor will you have to lower then back down flush and then have to try and find your ideal screen position again after the screen goes back on.

with just the turbo city brackets let on the bike you could even add this

if you want to go into off-road tour mode .

just seems the madstad setup is versatile like the DR is.

A bit -- Mark has a paint pen that he paints the edge if one wants - it stops the "Halo" effect

MRA streetshield- very low. Just enough to put the windblast at the top of my shoulders. No helmet buffeting or extra wind noise. I like it.

simple enough trick painting the bottom edge of the screen to keep light from entering "inside" the screen and up. i'm sure black nail polish would do the trick too.

looks like gary's DR has the larger GS screen from madstad.
i like the CR shape better. light smoke looks good but i think dark grey would be sharp and hide all the brackets and stuff behind it.

here's another one.

here's another view of my FZ1 (gen 1) oem screen bolted on to headlight shroud. the happy trails windshield bag for the gen 1 klr fits it like a glove.
i used the shortest stainless steel strap from the hardware on the side bolts of the fairing to move it out and away some more and get the shield to stand a little more upright. it works well keeping the wind of my chest.
the turbocity mounts arms for the madstad should loop over top of this setup so i can keep it all in place and go from different tour modes.

pro taper atv mid bars are very comfortable on the wrists and body.
maier atv handguards and maier mx shields.

double take miror mounted on a klr anti-vib mirror thingy screwed into xr400 oem perch and clutch lever w/ adapter for the mirror mount. tucks away real nicely when i'm riding offroad or storing the bike under cover and sits in the space above the wolfman windshield bag and the screen.

IMS tank, acrebis locking cap and wolfman enduro tank bag.

nicely tucked aware from harm. awesome dual-sport GPS setup.

i've got all the indicators and instruments i need all tightly together in 1 place.

Butler Maps are in the tank bag along w/ my digital camera, water and snacks.

Thank you! I think I'll be ordering them for my Tusk handguards. The bars cant be all that different can they?

The Parabellum shield is insane. Initially, I felt nothing up to 40 mph on side streets. I got on a main highway and got the bike up to 70. Everything felt great except this annoying ticking coming from the top of my helmet. Turns out it was the air vents on my helmet, if they are closed they make noise, if they are open I hear nothing. I hear everything on the bike now, it actually sounds much louder because there is no wind to drown out the sound. The shield make me ride a little faster as well, mainly because there is NO air pressure on my chest at all. The weirdest thing was that I my legs are freezing in Jeans and my core stayed very warm, guess its something I'll have to get used to (plus my riding pants will help a bunch). I went WOT and got the bike up to 87, I have some nasty vibration issues at that speed, but again, I barely feel the speed.

I know the DR is not made for 85+ mph, but what could be causing such a front end shake at that speed? The bike is smooth as can be around 70-78 mph...

probably that big screen is causing it to shake.
so is it a keeper? you should get some oxford heated grips and that will warm your blood in the cold.

why you riding in jeans??? get some real waterproof gear and stay warm and protected dude.

Yep it's a keeper. I cut the stainless steel brackets to fit my top clamps better, and now there is no space. I have the Oxford heated grip wraps that I bought in a rush last year, but I'll probably end up getting the full grips this season. As for the riding pants, I've got a pair of waterproof all season pants, but was too lazy to put them on yesterday... I know, I know, not smart... They are sitting on my DR ready for next time..

Moose Racing Large Competition Handguards -- they are a flexible rubber so they should work - - - let us know if you do try them --- I have the Tusk handguards on my WR and they don't provide as much wind protection as the "Moose Racing Large Competition Handguards"

1. Is the shake at speed new? If so, take off the windscreen and see if it still does it.

Next most likely problems:

2. Do you balance your tires?

3. Tires are wearing, possibly cupping?

4. Steering head bearings wearing out (how many miles on those bearings?)
