I suspect after stage 1 you will be up the start order a good bit. Ride smooth and safe, we want to see that picture of you getting the finishers medal in Lima

I think that the higher numbers on the list are based on last year's results (Coma, Despres et al)... as you go down the list, past participation and early registration come into play...
but it's no big deal, the numbers only apply to the prologue (1st day starting order), after that you start at what you finished the previous day Brodovitch screwed with this post 11-08-2011 at 08:50 AM |

The G450 tank fits over the airbox of the Husky and that is about it. There is quite a bit of modifying and fabrication of bracketry to make it work. I'll post up the details with pictures later. According to the Safari Tank people they will be making a tank for the Husky just not in time for the Dakar. I'd wait for the purpose built tank if i had the option.

Will they re-set the start order as the race progresses?

Best chance to get ahead of the trucks:
Do well in the first special stage of 60km. I would think that you don't want to start just in front of the trucks.
"The seaside resort of Mar del Plata brings to mind lazing around, especially after the competitors have mingled with the crowd during the public presentation ceremony on 31st December. For the short warm-up special stage, they will nevertheless be allowed to pass by the seafront, where the small dunes to be crossed will represent the first hurdle. In this simple exercise, the fastest time will establish a first winner and determine each competitor’s position in the rankings. After this challenge, there will be a long liaison section to be covered to Santa Rosa de la Pampa." After this special, throw in a pair of street tires and hit the 796km liaison. Talk about a sore butt! |
