very nice!

good job sean capturing the ride after we left the monument. first i hated dannyG, so many woops and deep sand combined. can't go blasting away because of the 2 - 3 foot deep woops.

but then i later realized it was a good exercise to develop our sand skills...

turned out to be the perfect weather

from mojave, it's a 8 mile pavement ride to the nearest dirt. uhmm...not exactly, cuz one "rider" could not wait and went crazy and rode the soft shoulder and made all the motorist around inhale his dust...

airing down where randsburg-mojave and 20mule splits

we started on easy dirt so everyone gets to warm up and make their adjustments

the super enduro caught up with me quickly and here i can tell what this rider is thinking.....

eric still looking very fresh at this moment; those riders in the background looked amazed seeing us

from start to end, i think this stretch is about 40 miles. the road was so smooth, one can easily go balls out.

close up of the road

topping off in johannesburg. i put in 1 gal and assumed that i can do 45mpg or about 130 miles in one full tank...big mistake which i will find out later.

the little mining town of randburg. we ended up not hanging out there since it was only 10:30am

only several dirt bike and atv riders that morning

back at the gas station, someone has a bigger toy

I'm guessing 1 was an f-15 and 1 was an f-16. Edwards was right over the hill from us. Just a couple of fighter jocks doing some hot laps over the desert.

it was my first time to the monument. more personal and meaningful once you see it. it's actually a memorial for many riders who passed away.

the 610 is a good bike to get you there. also include the cuddeback lake, hoffmann tower, and randsburg. depends on where will you be staging, but that is a full day of riding.

yeah john, the riding god has been good to us last weekend's camp and ride, then this weekend.

your 990 would have roosted dust and sand in our faces if you showed up....

rich, we can plan on something, camp and ride. i saw some areas where we can camp. there is also a good and long route (big bike friendly) to the monument and cuddeback that the gas station attendant pointed out to us. more dirt than the gps track that i planned to run. ersin and tex will love this ride.

thanks to the gas station attendant, we were able to skip 6 miles of pavement and on to this road. and just like any goooood riders, the boys are in staggered position.

picking the cleanest line

aaaah....a go pro, need to see what you got there adam.

my brand new montana kept on dying on me. turned out the rugged mount by garmin is POS, the contacts from external power keep on missing. touratech needs to come up with a solution. if you have one, turn off the power saver when you're riding. don't worry, the rechargeable battery is good for 16 hours when fully charged (according to garmin).

isaac

whale foreskin suit looks great on eric

adam has little issue gettting the lighter bike unstuck

a little practice for next weeks ride to vegas

sorry gerd for the poor focus

we all made to hoffman road

Shoot, that is shallow sand! Fudgy should have kicked everyone's *ss. If he didn't I am calling Jimmy!

If you are doing this ride the second weekend of Dec I am in!

This Friday I am leaving Camarillo, a lot of street to Rowher coming in the back way. Meet up with some FF's ride a bit then back out to Rock Inn for lunch then home.

HUGE Bike friendly.

fun afternoon we all had

after spending some quality time at the monument, danny suggested that we take the short cut...

here's isaac approaching the infamous woopy sandy wash...

it didn't take long, i see a 600 lb pig hiding in the bush.........

by now, the fat bikes knew it was a trap

overall, it wasn't really that bad

you gotta be a big guy to make a gsa look like a scooter.....

wohooooo, we're approaching the dry lake bed....

the big bikes could not be contained and were all excited

i wonder if anyone broke nowwhat's speed record????....
