48 hours 814klm's,37 creekcrossings & an XR400 PRICELESS..... All just to say g'day to a couple of mates! Well time to test my ADV skills , a fine weekend & dirt roads to explore. So saturday morning packed up the little red baron & headed for the hills! The Big hill they call eungella to be exact, well we've all done the the eastern side of the range wobbled our way up the range dodging cattle grids & slippery moss cover bitumen,. I thought i'd do it a little different & come up the western side from the historic town site of MT britton hoping to find some challenging dirt roads in the process. to get there from home, the best plan of attack was skip up the railline to moranbah. shoot past goonyella & burton mine to come out by Lake Elphingstone between Glenden & Nebo, then jump on the Turrawulla road past the remnants of Mt Britton & moonlight dam & on to the lizzie creek road & climb the range coming in just behind eungella dam. well alot of the old dirt between moranbah & the Lake is now sealed (surprise surprise)due to mining activity!! But the track from Britton to eungella did not disappoint. Getting closer !! The hills are alive ... with the sound of a 400 single ,lol. Ahhh Lizzie creek road, Nice little track with some breath taking bloody creek crossings!! every one like riding on ice with all the algae growing in them, & if i crossed one i crossed 37 of the slippery little suckers!! Done close to 300k at this stage so pulled in to Eungella Dam for smoko Not a bad little puddle atm! from there to Mackay was a mere hop skip & jump , had a play with a couple of BMW GS's on the way in, note to self 400 single needs more poke on the straights!! Caught up with a couple of good mates for a bullshit session & some words of encouragement Turned around & did it all again on Sunday! & even saved a track to do next time Hey fellas?? Till the next one.....

that road from the dam back into collinsville is my all time favorite!

I was also lucky enough to 4wd along the range from the dam and come out @ proserpine for work @ one stage!!

if you could get it opened up there would be some sweet sweet riding in there!

mate ....next time have a look at the Denhm Range NP and the track down the hill to Captains crossing..so much great riding down there.
