Why would you consider riding in afghanistan or riding anywhere near those terrorist type countries? There are plenty more places to ride where you dont run the risk of an IED blowing your front wheel off. Sounds a good tour other than that tho. and I love harleys!!

I think I would feel safer riding my bike around northern Iraq than riding on L.A. freeways at 5:00 in the afternoon.

Good luck with all of your projects, especially your Cannonball Indian. Thank God it's got better ABS than those new BMW's!

I guess I'd have to quote the illustrious marketing engineers over at Harley to answer that one. (something I thought I would NEVER do! but....)

it was great to meet all you guys who I had only talked to online before. Meeting people has been the best thing about doing these shows.
Other than that, it hasnt really been alot of fun. I got into huntsville at 8am this morning. I hate airports, and sitting in a flying bus for hours. and 2-3 days to work per week. My cat bitches at me when I get back. I cant ride my motorsickles, or work on my projects. But, doing the shows & meeting people almost makes it worthwhile

Hi Rob
thanks for finding it for me. It IS a 39 Norton, but its the side valve model, & Che rode thru S America on an OHV model.

I wouldnt mind finding a sidevalve chassis, if the OHV motor would fit, but that one was a bit nice (and too expensive) to butcher up

Doug

I came to see you in Long Beach on Friday. It's always great to hear live commentary with pictures like yours.
I was disappointed that they cut you off after only a half hour when there was still an hour or two to go in the show itself.
I would've happily sat and listened for longer.
