December in SD

A warner than usual weekend had me saying the hell with skiing and I took the bike out instead. Since the Hills were icy, I headed for the praire. I realize this isn't a proper ADV ride, but you take what you can get at this time of year. I headed east on Hwy 44 to Farmingdale (aka Railroad Buttes OHV area). The trails were dry anbd traction was good so I headed East towards the Cheyenne River.

Several miles of this and I was lost

I tried to get to the top of this butte, but failed

had to settle for this one as a lookout

ended up lost more than once, but all in all a good day

I'm jealous. I ended up taking my bike out for a couple of hours the other day when it wasn't snowing or freezing cold. It's been snowing all day today though and now there's a couple inches on the ground :(

NICE! I'm from North Dakota. Don't get a chance for rides like that in December often. Looks like good riding. Way better than anything in S Florida!
