2011 they had to be checked at scruting but you didn't actually have to use it.

Leatt to check and certify other manufacturers braces?

Ned, Ted or Chris, Was just thinking about the 3 bikes and had a question. Bill and Jonah's bikes are EFI right? Yours isn't Ned...what's the jetting plan for all the altitude changes during Dakar? Will you rejet the carb after pulling it off the bike, or do you have extra pre-jetted carbs ready to swap out as req'd?

Thanks for including us on your ultimate adventure!

Chris and the rest of the pixel pimps,

Thank you for your efforts and time spent documenting the dream of one man coming true and to create an opportunity for the rest of us to feel a part of such a grand endeavor.

Few men or women will ever have the means, opportunity or courage to push the boundaries of self. And it's a great privilege to be invited to glimpse the heart of the journey itself.

Thank you all.

Hallelujah!!!!

You know something's up when Le Mama gets up at 2:30 AM to go check the "thread." Wow - closer and closer, all that planning paying off big-time. Yep - I, too, notice the breadth of that smile. Go, Ned! I'm eying the Layer Cake, not sure which one I'll start with on New Year's Day . . . (or which one I'll save for the 15th . . . )

So grateful, BTW, to be able to know what's going on! We moms like to stay in the loop!!!!!

Leatt brace:
According to the regs: "Over the entire route the wearing of Leatt Brace neck protector is strongly recommended." So it's a strong recommendation (like it was last year), but not mandatory. There's a handful of pros who say they can't ride with one, so they took it out of the rules.

EFI/carbs:
Ned said that as most of his riding in Colorado is at high elevations, he's perfectly used to jetting his bikes to the circumstances and is confident it won't be a problem.

Just think, you go all the way to Brazil, it's New Years eve, and you'll be trying to SLEEP!

Great job getting the bike finished. I hope you guys can get some rest tonight, and have a great time.

Hi All- First, thanks for everything it took to get to this point. All along, I've known I had the F5 crew at my back, it's a damn good feeling.

Pretty amazing sensation yesterday to walk through parc ferme with the realization that all the adminstrivia is over, that I'm going racing in the Dakar. This has been a dream for years and years and to realize it is, well, pretty damn cool.

It's been overwhelming trying to deal with all the requirements the last few days, I'm doing a worse job of reporting than I hoped but there's only so many brain cells I have to rub together. Every day, I'll be calling Rally Raidio (is the first call from two days ago up yet?) and filing a report with motorcyclist and dirt rider, be sure to check 'em out over there.

Now for the easy part. Can't wait to bring you along.
