'Fools russ-ian where angels fear to tread'
Bill I can understand your bitterness that it was a part designed and built by yourself that ultimately ended your rally. Nothing anyone says can make that go away. But don't beat yourself up over it- yours was a stout effort on the available budget. Many of us learned a huge amount by following your build. Including a few priceless lessons from the school of hard knocks. For this I thank you. Thank you for sharing it all so openly. All the best for whatever you do next. Cheers. |

Russian bear - Buttom line is ---- go ride your GS through a mud puddle on your way to starbucks and draw a bunch of gawkers, tell them how you DID the BMW course and the dragon.
Some of the videos y'all took. ( that's right y'all ) and it is not special. Rode yesterday on sand roads and brush trails. Went up some steep hills and back down. But it dosent qualify me to make armchair calls about anything profesional do. You are a computer guy, right. I am NOT, know nothing about them other than what I deal with at work. So I don't make inputs to show my lack of knowlege on those subjects.

While not the happiest of images, I did spot Bill's bike in the EuroSport Rest Day coverage. Somebody had mentioned they wanted an image of it on the broom truck and this was what I could find. There were no side images in the video.

Per RB -" Why did the british actor survived 3 days on Dakar - because his bike survived 3 days! why did Simon Pavey finished Dakar - because his bike finished the DAKAR!"
I thought CB didn't finish the DAKAR because he busted his hand, guess I missed something.

I could go back and look, but I think he messed up both hands maybe? Broke one and dislocated something on the other? I just remember that it was incomprehensible to me that he rode even two minutes afterwards, let alone several hours.
