lots of stuff coming out of Alonso today....
Quote:
Robert Kubica has been singled out by Fernando Alonso as the rival he fears the most. Although Kubica is still recovering from injuries he suffered in a rally crash last year, and is currently in the hospital after injuring his leg in a fall on Wednesday, Alonso says he believes the Polish driver is the most talented competitor out there.
Speaking at Ferrari's Wrooom media event at Madonna di Campiglio on Thursday about which driver he feared the most, Alonso said: "For me the best driver is Robert Kubica and I want to wish him the best. I spoke to him yesterday and I am sure when he returns, he is going to be the best driver of the group."
Speculation continues to link Kubica with a future at Ferrari, although team principal Stefano Domenicali said that there were no plans at present for the Pole to test a car when he has recovered. When asked for his thoughts on the possibility of Kubica replacing Felipe Massa to become his teammate in the future, Alonso said: "I am very happy with Felipe..."

I don't like Alonso but I respect that he's made an effort to stay in touch with Kubica, especially at a time when the Pole must be in a dark place,

I read that article on Kubica and came strait here knowing it would be mentioned. Damn, just damn. Good on Alanso, nice of him.

Kubica is a very smooth driver. His speed was deceptive. I just hope he can stages comeback. Just NOT in red..

trouble for the horse....

Ferrari's bid to challenge for this year's World titles reportedly took a knock when their 663 failed its crash tests.
A new regulation this season is that all chassis must pass the mandatory FIA crash tests before they can take part in pre-season testing.
But, according to Finland's Turun Sanomat, Ferrari's 2012 chassis, dubbed the 663, failed on its first attempt.
This meant it was back to the drawing board for Ferrari, who had to reinforce the structure before the second attempt at the tests.
That test is reportedly scheduled for the coming week with Ferrari then set to unveil their new car on February 3rd before testing kicks off on the 7th.

Any of you thinking of heading to Austin this Nov?

The plan is for me and my kids to go down with my father. That is if tickets are ever available...

The way they update the update photos, it looks like they may have to use the left-over food from Korea.

Sweet! I'll keep an eye in here for you and others and as we get tickets and plans sorted.

I'll be pulling a trailer down most likely and camping. Time to do some research...

I'm thinking Renault/Lotus' Eric Lux is a special kind of cunt.

He gets in a bar slapfight with Adrian Sutil in China. Now he's taking him to trial in Germany on criminal charges.

A man as vindictive as that must make for a pretty miserable team executive.

Everything I can gather about "the incident" tells of a slashed throat and Sutil running out of the bar and China to avoid arrest. Regardless of what that says about Sutil's character (pussy IMO) what will happen should he return to China?

The 663 passed the second crash test. And it looks like other teams are looking into the ride height/breaking gizmo.
