Thanks for showing us some of your beautiful island!
I've always wanted to visit. Perhaps someday.

You've got some beautiful scenery and great places to ride. I've been to Crete several times but never had the chance to get out into the countryside. Now I know what I was missing.
Looking forward to more pics. |

Thanks for the nice comments. We have hundreds, maybe thousands of pictures to share with you from places at Crete that, as Nikos (markas) wrote, are unknown to most people of our island and for sure to tourists that come for a week or two and have no time to explore. We hope you will enjoy them!

Whoever i asked, gave me no descent answer. No one seemed to know anything about it and much less about a castle that our map showed in the area. Even the Internet didn't provide us with much info. Many told us that the castle should be in ruins, a few stones above some others and nothing worth seeking, but what if they are wrong?
What is there to be found in this forgotten part of Crete? ![]() |

Well, a dream i had for a couple of years now is to ride around my island as close to the sea as i can. So, being a sucker for castles did the trick and got the party started!

Wow. Thanks for the memories. Crete is truly one of Greece's gems. My wife and I spent our honeymoon there...

We start from Heraklion (where Yannis and i live) around 8 in the morning and arrive in Agios Nikolaos (painterakis home town) half an hour later to find him waiting for us. The scenery and the road itself may be nice but we have made it hunderds of times, so no pics from that part.
We regroup, exchange some more info (nobody knew anything but we drank some Raki to warm us a little) and got back on the road. ![]() ![]() The road is twisty as almost all roads in Crete are. We are used to it of course so without any delay... ![]()
