RussianBear, I kind of stuck up for you at the beginning, but there seems to be more going on than you just having different perspectives on Bill's situation. I know the rest of your last post was "friendly," but mostly in a condescending, know-it-all way.

At first I thought maybe you'd keep jumping in with your criticisms and condescending advice just because you might be defensive after people jumped on your first post. Well, based on what you keep doing I guess what you want isn't really "acceptance," but whatever it is you want, there are better ways to get it, less narcissistic ways.

Everyone else in this forum has their flaws too, but you need to find a way to not poke everyone in the eye to get attention.

If you can't change, go start a thread in Jo Mama and say whatever you want instead of trying to make Bill's thread about you. If you've got an axe to grind with Bill then just be a man and pm him directly and be out with it. The games you're playing here aren't doing yourself or anyone else any good.

I hope we don't get caught up in replies to RB. *I don't have time to weed thru it all. *I would like some responses to other posters; questions that probably got lost. See above.

As a newbie...I am fascinated that there are more solutions to the challenge...well..then there is money. *I love hearing the thoughts and generosity of other racers.
Would love to here about the heat, clothing choice, how everything got back state side etc.

But also respect if you don't feel like sharing the past and want to move on...to 2013!

Actually, had the skidplate not been built so well, it may not have done the damage it did.

I doubt the clamps holding the skidplate were built in the Carolinas.... Russia maybe.... but not the Carolinas.

I think its great that you are building your own bike. Coming from a manufacturer id expect nothing less than perfection. Building it yourself truly puts you in a higher league regardless of the races outcome.

Seriously, Moab this spring. Rocks, sand, and fast dirt roads. It will seem like a day trip compared to South America!
