These are interesting, I've always wanted to do a HID projector retrofit, but have always been nervous about the actual mounting. This design solves that problem...as long as the headlight bucket is strong enough to cope with the added stress of a projector dangling from it.

I may have to give this a try...

how did you seperate the lens from the housing? i tried but it was stuck fast.

Set oven to 200 degrees, bake your housing for about 6 minutes, remove (wearing gloves!).. silicone should now be liquid.

Aha! good thinking. I did not think of that when I tried to pop mine off several years ago. As it was an extra light at that point I just went ahead and cut the back housing off as I only wanted the lens. But...in the future I will remember the oven trick. Thanks

Glues vary. . . . I just separated the headlight lens tonight, it took a few tries for 10 min at about 275 degrees, and plenty of prying to get the glue to soften and the headlight to come apart. The H1 projectors seem to fit behind the lens just fine, I won't have much time to work on it tonight though.

You guys seem pretty far along, here are some other suggestions.

The 690 Duke has twin under/over projector beams so there may be oem brackets and projectors you could start from.

Do you need to fabricate any brackets or anything in order to do this modification? I am woefully unable, ill equipped, an inexperienced to be doing that...
