You're coming at Adventure Riding from a 4 wheel drive background?

I explored Death Valley, the Panamints, and the local deserts from the drivers seat of my '67 Bronco for a while and then discovered that from my KLR's saddle I could cover triple the ground and see ten times as much in the same amount of time.
You can pack lighter and travel way further on a bike.

Also, being out in the weather is a better experience, I reckon.

Like actually being on the beach, smelling the salt air, feeling the sun on your skin, hearing the waves crash on the sand, feeling the wind in your hair, as opposed to looking through a plate glass window at the water from someone's living room.

I hear you completely. Yep, coming from a Mtn biking, Hiking, Rockcrawling, Desert Truck and Overlanding background. Basically anything in dirt im good with. Rode as a kid and been dying to get back out on 2 wheels. That being said, our Landcruiser and Off Road Teardrop won't be neglected in exchange. My other half and pooch goes with us on every trip so this is just another "format" to explore with.

I'm heading out Sunday again for another ride then we'll be taking the truck and trailer out to Chloride City the following weekend. Good times indeed. Very fortunate.
