Good decision beginning at Wendover, a perfect starting point for California-based riders. Puts you into the thick of things in no time.
Keep up the great work here!

Not to hijack or rudely interrupt ... I'd just like to add that I've found a terrific little two-track road, Silver Island Canyon Road, that winds through the northern tip of the Silver Island Mountains, beginning and ending on the main loop road. It's an awesome little cutoff that is not to be missed.
The northern terminus of this cutoff is right at Donner-Reed Pass, where the ill-fated Donner Party passed on their way to the Sierra. You'll find it at: N40.94669 W113.76545 Perhaps it will be helpful to folks who get all inspired 'n stuff by this adventure. A pic: ![]() Now I'll butt out ...

Props where props are due
I forgot to mention a very important fact in the ride report.
While DockingPilot created GPS tracks for the Forever West ride it was the vast knoweldge and experience of Tony Heugel of Backcountry Byways that provided the route information. He has traveled a lot and knows these areas. So if you are planning a trip in the Wild West check him out at http://backcountry-byways.blogspot.com/ Thanks Tony for providing more insite into a historic area and a cool place to visit. Just caught up to Bringham ! Man I cant imagine what it was like it that heat out there ! I rode the Trans con alone due to Bruces SE getting a puncture. Not enough fuel to turn back so I had to keep going. The most alone I ever been in my life I think !
Excellent report fellas, I'll continue ...........
