Love your shots! You're one of the reasons I bought a 8mm lens for my Pentax. Cant wait to get some great landscape shots with bike in it.

Mo' Moab

Just re-living the life here, Baldy. I've been slaving away in the office nursing a bum knee from the last big ride.

There's alot of distortion in some of these, Cyborg. Fisheye Lens, HDR w/Photomatix Pro and other processing by Lightroom 3. None are straight out of the camera.

I love the Samyang 8mm fisheye. My copy is really soft on the left side, but it is still fun. It can't be beat for the price.

Here's a few from the next morning around Moab...

I blasted up Onion Creek

and up into the La Sal Mountains looking for fall colors.

Looking below into the Castle Valley

Wilson Arch

Abajo Mountains

La Sal Mountains

License Plate Arch... (Delicate Arch)

Balanced Rock

North Window and Turret Arch

Mesa Arch

I kinda like Moab. I may go back someday.

We greatly enjoyed our time traveling through Moab, sadly this time around it was only for a brief few days at the end of a long journey... there is much unfinished business to be had there.
It is like a time machine to look at and relive these times, as dave so brilliantly demonstrated with the wonderful images above.

Clydascope,

Seeing those old photos of Moab is pretty cool. I'll bet it wasn't as crowded back then.

I don't mind riding a motorcycle near the edge, but like most sane people, I would NOT try that climbing stuff. That's hardcore.

Lost Rider,

Your photographs are always inspiring!

The vertical playground is familiar place for me, and Utah is one of the finest locations in the world for it.

Been from the Fisher Towers to Taylor Canyon, Arches to Mexican Hat.

Ever since driving the White Rim Trail 25 years ago I've wanted to ride it, really need to get back there on two wheels.

Hey folks, there is a proposition on the table to flood Long canyon/Pucker pass for power generation. If you hike, Jeep, climb or just love that canyon you might want to voice your opinion.
http://www.ferc.gov/docs-filing/ecomment.asp got "documents and filings" pull menu down and you will see "e-comments". Write em up in WORD or something and then copy and paste.

Go to www.ferc.gov select e-library in the "Documents and Filings" drop down menu and enter project number p-14354.

You have till May 22.

Clean renewable power?
Sounds great.
Flood it, I'll find somewhere else to enjoy my outdoor activities.

In order to evolve and stop using fossil fuels we all have to make some sort of sacrifice, there's plenty of other land to play on.

More Moab photos....
