I'm in .. making reservations this morning.
Too late to get a t-shirt? Have room for a bike in the back of the pickup if anyone needs one taken down from Colorado. Leaving 5th, starting back 12th. |

Is an AZ offroad/OHV sticker (if there is such a thing) required for any of the rides if the bike is plated?

Yes, even with a street license. Just confirmed that yesterday with the DMV.

Just to clarify, if the motorcycle is intended to be street legal from the factory (like a klr650), then an OHV sticker is NOT needed to ride offroad. If the motorcycle was an offroad only bike from the factory (like an xr400), then you DO need the OHV sticker to ride offroad. (even if it's street legal)
Now, on state trust land, you either need a state trust land permit, or the OHV sticker acts as that permit while you're riding your motorcycle. Now, the only thing I"m not sure about is if out of state riders need the ohv sticker. I'm pretty sure an officer wouldn't hassle you if you were out of state on the ohv sticker, but if you were riding in state trust land, you would need the permit/sticker. That being said, it's only a few days. The chances of running into an official in the middle of the desert is slim at best

Where would an out of stater get either a OHV sticker or a permit to ride state lands?

Which rides on the schedule are on state trust lands? Just trying to
the risk...Did find a regs page (which I can't find this morning), that said other states OHV stickers are good for riding in AZ. From what I'm hearing, that would not cover for the state trust lands permit. Colorado's OHV expires on March 1st, and we can't renew until after that date. Then it can take up to a month to get the sticker in the mail (go figure). |

Unless you are here for more than 30 days from out of state, you don't the OHV sticker. This from the state website http://www.azgfd.gov/outdoor_recreat...vFAQ.shtml#Are :
Are there any OHV Decal exceptions -or- I'm from out-of-state do I need to purchase the OHV Decal? A person may operate an all-terrain vehicle or an off-highway vehicle in Arizona without an off-highway vehicle user indicia (OHV Decal) if any of the following applies: The person is participating in an off-highway special event. The person is operating an all-terrain vehicle or off-highway vehicle on private land. The person is loading or unloading an all-terrain vehicle or off-highway vehicle from a vehicle. During a period of emergency of if the operation is directed by a peace officer or other public authority. All of the following apply (For non-residents): The person is not a resident of Arizona. - and - The person owns the vehicle. - and - The vehicle diplays a current off-highway vehicle user indicia (sticker/decal) or registration (license plate) from the person's state of residency. - and - The vehicle is not in Arizona for more than thirty (30) consecutive days.

What is the food situation like around the camp? Should I be packing everything in or is there a store close by?
