Trying to find Cromag's Campout

I'm not very good with directions... so I figured I'd better leave real early, and give myself alot of extra time, inorder to find the secret spot for Cromag's famous Campout. So far I've come up empty but not for a lack of trying. Seen some pretty nice spots to hold a Campout, but I guess Cromag's must be even better.

I know it's on a gravel road somewhere near a State Park in one of these small New England States.

Looking all over the place has been tiring...

.....so I've had to have a couple of Sherpa's Campouts...while the attendance has been pretty piss poor compared to the turn out Cromag gets...the preparations and cleanup are real easy.

I bet Cromag wont be providing such a nice place for all attendees to hang their Roadcrafter...I love it when campgrounds are so considerate.

I even went up to our neighbors to the North to see if they knew anything about the secret Cromag Campout location...I don't speak French though...so I couldn't get much info out of them.

I saw lot's of these signs warning me about the Moose which are supposed to be everywhere.....

....I haven't seen a single Moose...beginning to think it's just a marketing ploy inorder to draw in the tourist dollars. I did see a big old Black Bear walk across the road and head into the woods by this lake.

Speaking of Lakes...these things are everywhere up here.

I think I've got three of four days left till the opening events at Cromag's Campout kick off....so I'll just have to keep looking around and hope for the best...

Bummer about having to endure all those horrible places trying to find the campout. Keep posting pictures and I am sure someone will let you know when you get closer.

Get thee to the Campout a bit early, I'm sure the help will be appreciated. I'll be there tomorrow night, got to do a food run to Dukegirls for chili and tires on wednesday or thursday.

Got 6 kegs of beer to pickup, won't all fit on my 640.

I made the mistake last year of assuming I could set the waypoint on my GPS and it would get me there. It did technically, but what a bitch.

It had plotted a nice route all the way there. No problems. What was a problem was that I got to a t-intersection where I was supposed to be able to go straight. Looks like they might have turned that road into a campground or trailer park at some point. Anyway, there was no getting through. So, I made a right, as it looked like there were roads that way. Unfortunately, those roads turned out to be some of those famous unimproved, non-maintained dirt/rock roads, some of which were a bitch on a loaded GS with balding Anakees. It was also late and very dark out there. If I had dropped it on any of those hills, I would have slept there for the night. Luckily, as I got closer, CroMag had put up some signs that lead me in. The GPS still had some crazy ass route it was working on.

From sharing my story that night, I think I'm the only one that took that particular route It seemed so much easier to get there over the next couple of days.

local signage going up Thursday

for anyone who hasn't been to the CampOut before, the easiest way is to get to Canaan NH, follow signs to Mt Cardigan, then follow CroMag signs in to the epicenter.
