Boano Factory Builds Beta RR 450 Atacama Rally

Developed by Boano Moto the Beta 450RR Atacama Rally is ready for rally

The 2012 Dakar recently ended, but it is already time to start preparing for the 2013 edition. In doing so, Boano Motorcycles, always having been interested in producing an in house bike, under the guidance of engineer Rignano Arno, has crafted a beauty ready to tackle the most grueling of rallies, introducing, the Boano Beta RR Atacama Rally.

She's a beauty...

Any info on the tanks? front/ rear distribution? A friend was running a 2010 RR in a race last November,
crashed lightly and cracked the front tank (it was aluminum).

Hope they're now plastic

edit: I take it back, looks like they are still aluminum after closer inspection of the pics on your blog...

Yeah, you can see the welds. I'll try to see if I can set up an interview to get some more details. It does look like a tidy package though.

Don't get me wrong, it looks really compact and well thought, I just have a soft spot for plastic

especially the translucent kind which allows checking the fuel level!

Will be test riding their 450 & 498 models next sunday, Beta might be turning into a serious option
for me!

Coming back where? Africa? Not with the current state of Senegal, Mali, and Western Sahara it ain't. I would imagine a South Africa, Namibia, and possibly even Angola route could be made though, but I expect finances will dictate a South American rally for years to come. The finances versus adventure ratio is tipping more and more away from the adventure side of the scale.

There was a Patagonia - Atacama rally before Dakar moved to South America, ran in early-mid 2000's

Once Dakar arrived in 2009 both it and the Por Los Pampas rallys disappeared.
