I slept on a reclining armchair in the living room for those 3 of those 4 weeks.

About a year ago I did ask the mods for a dedicated Triumph section like the KTMs and BMWs have but it fell on deaf ears.

And you call me a wuss ...

But, back to topic: I have ridden a WR without steering damper in deep sand and I have ridding one with a damper. Wow. The difference is quite obvious and if I had to build a bike like my gone WR again, I'd certainly put on a steering damper. No question about it.

I have a Scotts damper on my Husky. Here in New England the problem is not so much sand as rocks and roots. I love mine - it's one of those things that you don't notice is working so I guess that's a good thing.

That said, not sure I want (OK, maybe I want) or need one of the Tigger since I don't intend to take it in deep sand or roots/rocks.

What difference would that make? Most of the BS arguing occurs between people who already have the Tiger.

You implied that it was difficult to find the good things in amongst all the bickering. With a dedicated Triumph section there could be more individual threads dedicated to individual subjects making it easier to find certain information. Which is exactly what happens in Orange Crush or Parallel Universe etc..

Your contributions have been worthwhile, thanks.
See how easy it is to be just a little bit of an ass on the internet? Don't worry you will get the hang of it. It takes the right amount of dick to useful info ratio. With a little more practice no one will even notice how much of a n00b you are.

Just a word of warning, others here have reported topping out when raising it that high -- you'll crash up top and shatter your guard. The max is about 20mm I believe, or LESS. An inch (25mm) would be making contact when the (stock) suspension bottoms out... Of course if you've modified that, YMMV.

I'd say 15mm. That's what the Touratech kit does and BurrenRider did tests earlier in this thread and suggests that even that will touch the guard to bottom yoke. I'm just hoping that it doesn't touch hard enough to break. 20mm or 25mm most probably will break the guard.

You don't have any more pictures of this do ya? I would like to see more they ran it down the fork tubes, etc.

Hey Burren,
You've put some great content in this thread, but difficult to filter the noise.
Any word on the safari tank?

How's the bike after the drowning? Any new ideas to prevent it happening again?

I gave the Tiger some new boots today, put a Heidenau k60 rear & Continental TKC front. I think that this will make a good combination. I'll keep an eye on how long they last.
