BTW I have also three 1100GS (one sidecar, and two solo), and I do not see the need to swap the front end from a 1150 one! Having riding both, no difference of feeling from the front at all.

R11500GS Adv. Forks

twintwin:

Love the sidecar rigs -- wish I had the wherewithal to have both my R1100GS and one with a hack. RE: the R1150GS Adv. Forks, according to twintwin you'd also have to use the calipers from the Adventure -- so to swap you'd need to find forks, calipers and lower fender. I'm thinking it would be a lot cheaper to take your R11GS forks to a powdercoater for the color of your choice. twintwin pointed out BeemerBoneyard.com wants like $450 for forks (if and when they ever have them) and bridge. I'm guessing powdercoating would be less than half that.

Lonestar:

Make sure you post a photo of your R11GS after you fix the fender droop and add the fork boots. Not sure what my next farkle will be, been looking at GPS systems for M/C, but the top-of-the-line Garmins are crazy expensive. If I make any noticeable changes I'll post a new pic.

Did a little work on it this weekend. White tank and rear fender. Did the low voltage ABS mod and included a switch to make it switchable on/off while riding. Thanks to bdarling for showing me how to do it.

Somthing else shows up Thursday for it, can't wait.

Now to find a white front fender . . .

Thanks! Once I get the white beak on it, I'll give it a good wash and take some nice pictures of it.

And then I'll go get it dirty again!

If that's my old tank it looks really great, the GS Advent. decal really sets it off. I'm keeping my eye open for anyone that has a white beak for sale. How hard was it to switch to the white fender, how much you selling the old fender for, might want it to have it painted blue to replace my white one (for less down time).
