Texas Hills to Santa Fe - Route?

Scrambling to put together a big (road) touring bike route from San Antonio to Sante Fe for a ride I'm doing (last minute sort of) April 5th. I know some of the highlights - Three Sisters, Big Bend, White Sands, etc. But, I'm unsure about a good route from point A to point B. Any input is appreciated.

Thx!

I'd go 90 west to Van Horn then 54 north to 42 and then 41. It isnt a bad ride. You can either go up thru Carlsbad and over to Cloudcroft or just go west to El Paso on 180.

If your running short you can hop over to Socorro from Carrizozo and pick up the interstate but 54 is nice.

You xould go over to Abilene, up to Lubbock, Clovis, and on into Santa Fe, then come down through Roswell to Carlsbad and back

Here's a good route... if you have plenty of time... http://g.co/maps/s7cvt

The ride from Roswell, NM to Ribera, NM is more scenic than most would expect. Vast stretches of HIgh Plains to the east and mountains to the west. Add White Sands... I forgot to as I never cared much for that area...

Route modified to add White Sands Missle Range at Alamogordo as opposed to the town of White Sands, NM. http://g.co/maps/gfxpj

The route from Ft. Davis to Kent should not be missed.

The Pine Springs area will have good views of the Guadalupe Mnts.

Cloudcroft, Mescalero, and Ruidoso is good if not too populated in recent years. That area was beautiful years ago...

Thanks for the help! We're pushing this trip back a month but so we have a little more time to investigate these routes and accommodations.
