I read the 2010 ride report first then this one. I am interested in our side car. How do you like it vs riding with out it? Why a side car?

So sorry BOOGIEMAN...was on the lam and didn't consult my side for quite a while.

Why a sidecar...hhmmnn....age is one! Hausfrau will do gravel and dirt roads in it. More stuff can be hauled, eh . Safety comes to mind as well. Of course sometimes miss going thru twisties sans sidecar....but been with it for 2 years now and must say we're permanently attached to the hip

I have now read all your reports and the side car seems the way to go. I envy all of the great trips you have taken. your reports are well written with outstanding pictures. I am trying to retire this next year and do some of the same trips.

Again..do the TLH..it will forever be etched in your mind. I did it at the young age of 63, was probably the oldest rider in the month of July 2008. Cheers...I bid you Adieu...Aufwiedersehen...Au Revoir...Hasta La Vista...Good-Bye

Good to see you get out and about mate. if you don't mind me asking, how deaf are you, only reason I ask is I am totally deaf but have a cochlear implant in my right ear, it is the only thing that allows me to hear, it is a god send and has changed my life. I just bought a 990 and hope to soon to get out and explore so land down under.

Hello DownUnder 2upAussie990....sorry for the Tardiness as I've been moving into a newer House to suit my woodworking skills: bigger garage. I also cannot believe that my 2008 ADV trip has been found among the thousands of great stories..

By USA medical regulations I am considered deaf. Wearing a hearing aid on my right ear just for directional sounds..doesn't work. My left ear is shut off completely. I read lips well and don't hear grinding valves until the motor dies . At my age I don't think it's wise to fool with CI's. Better leave it be.

Your 990 is a fine bike and please do see the world from your perspective and let us know here.

Cheers....

Hello HEREWEGO...

No, haven't done the Trans Taiga...but it's on my bucket list of rides before I get a bit too . I want to finish the TAT....CDT...Baie St. James/Trans Taiga...then with my Missus > Oregon, California, Baja, ferry across Gulf of California to mainland Mexico east, return back to USA via Brownsville,Tx... then home!

I wish you had told your story here so that I(we) could learn from you about the realities of transitting the Trans Taiga including the few who did it. Not many do the TT, just Bay St. James.

Aye..Cheers...

Lovely RR.

Great food piccies.

As somebody who had a relationship with a nymphomaniac hairdresser who was deaf from birth - I have to ask, were you also deaf from birth?

Just because your prose is perfect, where hers was not good at all - despite she being very intelligent.
