Not for the F800R they don't.

He's getting them from Lost Rider who was selling them.

There are not a lot of aftermarket parts for this bike out there yet. Unfortunately, we still have two feet of snow (a near-record year) so I have a ton of parts on my bike but can't give you advice on performance. The Z-Technik windscreen is simple to install and looks like it will give good coverage. I went with clear. Wunderlich has a number of parts worth looking at. I bought a radiator guard, crash bars, and mudsling from them. I also bought mirror extenders and handguards made by Wunderlich but from another vendor before I realized I could have had them sent from California. I tried Rox risers but they were a bust. The ONLY risers that will work are the Verholens, marketed under the name MV Motorrad. And they are expensive, about $325.

I recently came upon a cool addition that I'm going to try out eventually. I had a custom gel seat made for my 1200GS but the cost was pretty high (over $500). Kno Place is a small outfit out of SD and they quoted a price of $200 with gel insert and leather cover. They have to reshape the seat so the little hump will be gone, but there is nothing like a gel seat for comfort. The website has pics of their work which looks pretty good, and it's always nice to support a small company that seems very customer friendly, which is what I've experienced so far. But the bike is going in the local MC show in two weeks so it'll have to wait.

I just ordered the windshield, I had a Z Technik on another bike and really liked it.

What was the issue with the Rox risers? I would like something nice but those MV risers are really pricey. Maybe just some old school riser inserts.

The brake line is about 2" too short. If you have someone that can custom make a brake line, you could take the bike to them to see if they can replace the brake line. It didn't seem feasible to me. I have a set of Rox risers I'd send to you cheap if you can figure out the brake line conundrum. (I mounted them on the bike so I know they will fit, and I actually painted them to match the handle bars.) You will also definitely need to move the throttle cable behind the forks with whatever risers you go with.

There is a place here in CA the dealer uses that will custom make new cables and a brake line for about $125. Not a bad deal. They said they would take the guy the cables and brake line from the bike and he copies them, but longer.

Can anybody recommend a good bash plate? That oil filter is hanging right out there.

Anybody use handle bar risers?

Looking at a Z Technik smoked windshield, what do you guys think?

I am going to start at the beginning of the thread and see what the story is.

The mirrors suck!
i believe lost rider had some bar risers - i may also be interested.
windscreen is also on my short list :-)

one question i have - what does your user manual say is the usable tank volume?

enjoy,
ferenc

I think we've established US capacity over other countries.

LostRider sold everything except for the fly screen. If you want good risers that are not the MV Motorrads, look at the Rox risers. They are the most adjustable and are good quality. You can get them at many dealers and off ebay, but you can also call or e-mail the company directly. I think their website is under roxspeed or something. You will want the 2" that fit 1 1/8" bars. I have a set on my GS and they work great. For a little more money they also have a vibration dampening model which I put on my ex-GF's F650GS because she had had carpel tunnel surgery and she said they worked well.

I ordered a BMW plastic engine guard for now, I have a connection and get a deal. I figure if anything comes off the road that will smash a plastic engine guard will be big enough to cause me far bigger problems.

Well, that's what the website says. The bikes in the US are obviously not nor have ever been thanks at least in part to those charcoal canisters. The 2012 owners manual now states they are 13.5 liters while the previous manual's stated they were 16 liters. Still doesn't make it right, but I would say the only way to find a 16L tank in the US on that bike is if someone imported one or changed out the tanks which I would actually do if I had a 16L tank.

After talking to the dude over at Rox I went with these, he didn't seem to think the stock top clamps would squeeze into the 1 3/4 risers, these are on the way.

Windshield...check.
Engine guard...check.
Risers...check.
Assorted doo dads...check.

Whats next? Perhaps an Arrow can to lighten things up a bit.

Anybody got a Sargent Seat? I love their seats, best thing to happen to butts since the thong bikini! :loll

I got 43 MPG out of the first tank.
