Sheesh!

You need a smaller bike for your more knarly trips. Thanks again for your ride reports, Dave. As you know, I like to ride your routes when in AZ.

Looking forward to a Fall trip to do more. Hope you be riding again by then.

Worth a Second Read

Just read the whole thing a second time. The pictures are awesome and so is the suspense at the end of John's Canyon. True 'you could die out here' experience. I think this thread sold me on a [light] adventure bike. I couldn't afford a KTM, but got a great deal on an unused XR650L and added a 4 Gallon tank and rack. I guess I'm wondering how deep I can go into places like this? I grew up riding in the desert, but never with gear.

I shared your pics with my photography buddy Ron Bigelow. He gave you the nod.

Hope the knee heals fast. Give it time and take the PT seriously.

Dave,
Nice ride report. The Utah Office of Tourism should send you a check! I am hooked and will have to go there. Hope your knee fells better soon.

Hi Dave, sorry to hear about the knee.
I hope you have a speedy recovery, I think I can wait a couple of months for my next photo adventure!

Wow! Thanks for the link. Your buddy has tons of useful information there, and I plan to make use of it. Anyone interested in improving your photography skills should check out the tutorials this guy has put together.

Yeah, it's doing okay. 4 days after surgery I hiked about a half mile of rocky trail to capture snow in the Superstition Mountains. A rare sight. This is a 30 exposure HDR Panoramic.
