I've run into a few guys with ADV stickers who seemed to have no clue about the site, and / or were generally unfriendly and / or fucking weirdos that made my skin crawl. I've run into more that were cool cats, but it's the oddballs that stick in your mind.

When I worked for the university PD, I was on the main drag in town, like 2 in the morning, when a kitted out GS makes a turn in front of me. Had Michigan plates and a shitload of ADV stickers and a FYYFF sticker. He stops, and looks at a map, and I roll up next to him (in a cruiser), flip him the bird, and yell: "ADV, huh? Fuck you, you fucking fuck!", with a big ol' grin on my face. He looks shocked, and a little scared, and says: "what did I do officer...?".

It's kind of awkward explaining to someone what the sticker on their bike means, after you have just scared them into thinking that they have done something so heinous that the cops are rolling up and screaming profanities at them.

I hate the look of top cases also but finally broke down and added this rugged looking not so gay case. Capacity is not so good but good enough for me.

Pelican cases, or similar, are manly. Bad ass things are kept in Pelicans... guns, night vision goggles, computers that activate nuclear weapons...

There is a certain brute simplicity to the action packer that I respect.

I mean the name alone connotes that you are a doer, a man of action, with a steely resolve; packing your shit on your enduro motorcyle in preparation for end times.

What do you have in there, anyway?

I envision a Mac-11, a few thousand rounds, some MREs, a hatchet, a blow up doll, rope, duct tape, and some asprin. All the shit you'll need for when the zombies come.

I'm going to get one, drill air holes in it, and put a honey badger in there, eliminates the need for all that other stuff.
