Nope, I was having a good time. Stuff like this is why I bought the Adventure. I sure as hell would not have wanted to try that "road" on the Ulysses.
I will fully admit to wishing the bike had knobbies, instead of the MT-90's. I will be fixing that later today by installing a set of Pirelli Scorpion Rally tires.

Saturday was a good day.
First, I picked up a new farkle for the garage. No more sitting on the floor to work on the bikes. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Then I put new tires on Mattie. ![]() ![]() And went for a ride. Unfortunately, I was having too much fun with the extra traction to remember to get many pictures. Oops. s![]() Today I took the long way home, but only got in one picture before the battery died on the Droid. ![]() This weekend should be a good one. Doing a local adventure type ride with a bunch of Bastards and other PA folks. Hopefully there will be lots of pics.

Racer43, one of the Bastards, does an adventure ride every spring. I am not sure what the route is going to be yet, but he said there will not be anything gnarly this year.
Here's the thread. I just looked over the route. Looks pretty good. There are two optional water crossings, and some gravel roads included.

My nearly vintage DR Hybrid with some new farkles and I are back and I hope to see you at the Adventure Ride in Mechanicsburg on Saturday. It would have been nice if the above average temps could have lasted a while longer, it's to be 26 degrees for the ride up but then hit the low 60's in the afternoon. I'd be up for any kind of ride on Sunday.

Spent the day riding with a bunch of other inmate on Racer43's Adventure Ride. A great time was had, though not many pictures were taken. None of the unpaved sections, as it was a little dusty...

Hello Skyclad.
It's been years since I meet you and stayed at your place. I'm sorry to hear about the death of Uly. ![]() I know you loved that bike. I used to ride big BMW's, but like yourself I switched to KTM's. Aren't they special? I think it's the perfect bike for you. Anyway, I just wanted to say "Hi". ![]() Q~

Howdy Questor.
![]() I do miss the Uly from time to time. Then I hit an un-maintained "road" with Mattie and everything is right in the world. She really is a great machine.

Went down teh the Spring Frolic in the Forest last weekend. Believe it or not, I took a few pictures.
![]() Day 1 Rode down with DRriderJohn following the Trans-eastern Trail most of the time. Great ride and good company. ![]() Michaux SF is really starting to wake up. Wish that I could have snapped even one picture of the 15 or so turkeys we saw. You will have to settle for a picture of Ridge Road. ![]() Somewhere in Maryland ![]() ![]() ![]() Somewhere in Virginia, I think ![]() ![]() Moore's Ford in Virginia ![]() Now we are in West Virginia ![]() ![]() Howard Lick River Road. Never saw the river, and have no clue who Howard licked, but the road is freakin' outstanding. 10mph switchbacks stacked three and four deep, roller coaster feeling between the switchbacks and we didn't see a single car the entire time we were on it. ![]() ![]() ![]() Another terrible view in WV. Why do I even bother coming down here? ![]() Of course, when one visits WV, a ride up to Dolly Sods is pretty much required. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Caught up to some other riders on Middle Mountain Road. ![]() It was a great ride, but after 350 miles, about 40% gravel/dirt, I was happy to pull into camp. So happy that I forgot to take a picture. ![]() Anyway, there is Day 1 of the trip. There are a lot more photos on my SmugMug page for your further viewing pleasure. Days 2 and 3 are coming soon.

Day 2
Decided that I would take a ride over to Rella's Cafe for lunch. Nice little 65 mile ride to get there. Little did I know... It started off easy enough. ![]() ![]() Then I found Panther Run Road. Using the word road to describe this goat path is being generous to a fault. It was not a trail I should have attempted riding solo, but stupidity and stubbornness won out over intelligence and prudence. Here is a picture of where I stopped to catch a breath and remove the rubber inserts from the footpegs. It is as easy section and the rocks I am standing on to take the picture are about 18 - 24 inches tall. Oh yeah, that flat section leading up to the rocks? It ain't flat. ![]() but the views were pretty nice ![]() ![]() I do think that I may be leading a hero ride to Rella's next year. I thought that I was getting video of Panther Run and Zambaugh Road (also rather interesting), but I discovered that my video camera does not stop when the memory is full. It just writes over the older stuff. Fuck. ![]() I guess I will just have to post more pictures. Holly River State Park ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() and the famous Rella's fridge. Hey Blooch, there seems to be a decal missing from the collection. ![]() ![]() Look Ma, no chicken strips! ![]() ![]() I must say that I am seriously impressed with the tires that I have on there now. At the time of the picture, they had between 2500 and 3000 miles on them. Not too shabby for knobbies on a big ADV bike. Great in the dirt, competent on pavement and even provide some traction on wet pavement. I do believe that I will continue to use them. Oh yeah, they are Pirelli Scorpion Rallys. Day 3 in the works

Day 3
Easy day heading home. After I got out to Rt 33, it was pavement the whole way home. No narration required for this day, just enjoy the scenery. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Yep, pretty good weekend overall. Looking forward to my next trip. Heading to North Carolina in a few weeks. 'til then, just local wandering for this ADV'er.
