Craig was one of the first, if not the first, to test these and then offer them to the public. Email or call him. He is always very responsive.

Thanks, I just wanted to check pricing at this point: too big a bill anticipated for suspension work to really do much more than that right now.

He's still running his special... order the Rekluse and get 25% off one of his clutch covers. Still, they ain't cheap! Just blew about the rest of the cash I had left-over from the sale of my other bike. Big ticket farkling is coming to a close (for this year ). Time to start planning some multi-day rides!

I missed the first production run but am in for the next one...."end of the month" is the word, hoping it means end of March, not End of April...or May....
Craig's a great guy and is very responsive to his email. My wife calls him "that crack dealer", tho. ![]() Steve

So does this mean it's best to just start out with it as-delivered; the changes you guys made have been taken into account? Steve

For the 990 ADV, are you guys leaving it at the Manufactors recomendations?? Stock Recluse plate/springs and 1 turn in on the slave??
If not "stock rekluse", how are you tweaking it??

My kit (for a 990) came with the 990 springs and wedges installed. In the medium settings as recommended in the manual. And the 950s have a different set of springs and wedges included in the kit so that you setup the kit with their other recommendation for the 950 (heavier springs and wedges). I am at 1 1/8 warm for free play.

OK, got my Rekluse EXP installed in my 07 S.
I first installed per Rekluses instructions with 1 turn in adjustment. But I had a bit of clutch slippage, so I backed it off. I'm now running it at 3/4's of a turn in . Seams fine to me. I've had Rekluses on my last few bikes. And I've been one of their biggest fans. I've thought bikes ought to come with Rekluses on them. But they've always been on smaller dirt bikes. This is my first on a large bike. But now I'm having second thoughts. I'll see if I can explain this: I know all about the freewheeling down hill and how to overcome it with a blip. And its never been a problem for me. But today I just got back from a 2 day trip with some fairly ruff stuff for a large DS bike. So, I'm going down long, ruff, rocky downhills, that I need to be in 2nd gear. I blip the throttle to engage the clutch, it holds for 2-4 seconds and then disengages and then I'm freewheeling. So I blip the throttle again and over and over. Is there an adjustment to cause the Rekluse/clutch to stay hooked up when descending?? Or do I just pretend I'm riding a 2 stroke, grab both brakes, hold on and hollar yeepee!! I know most of what we do is trade offs, but I'm thinking the gain of having the Rekluse at slow speed manuavering is less than the trouble of freewheeling down hill. Don't know if Rekluse still has a 30 day buy back, but I may find out. Thoughts from you guys that have had your EXP's longer.

too slow for 2nd
So it sounds to me like maybe first gear would have done it. In second you'll run lower engine RPM's, so whenever you get down to disengage speed, it will, well, disengage. Maybe you can fine tune it a bit to get a lower engage/disengage point. But if you get PRM down to idle speed, it will have to disengage.
