Question alternative speedo tach set up

Could someone give me some info on speedo /tach setups for an 82 R100 /7 .Mine is rougher than grannys legs. I would use analog or digital I see a lot of different things out there, but would like some first hand knowlege. How do you know the ratios? Any help would be much appreciated. Wes

Welcome to the forum Wesley!

Are you saying your gauges are trashed? What's wrong with them?

I think there are only a couple of choices in aftermarket gauges, only one of which I recall at the moment - Acewell. I've never gone that route, instead rebuilding the stock ones. But the electronic gauges are small and look good when set up right - and you don't have to worry about matching the final drive ratio because they take the reading off the front wheel like a bicycle speedometer.

It might be possible to graft some other speedometer to your bike, but I have no idea how to tell if it's the correct ratio or not. Our speedos have a number on the dial that tells us which speedo matches which drive, but that's not so with other makes.

How about filling out your profile and letting us know where you hail from? And definitely show us the object of your attention!

As mentioned above:

I've also installed the trail tech instruments before and they worked well.
