Basically he gave up & threw the baby out with the bathwater. He went all KLR on us with his switchgear (because he had some), stripped a huge amount of now surplus wiring out, & used a much simpler flasher unit.

It's a similar story how things get changed on my bike. I ended up replacing the brake lever & master cylinder, throttle & starter switch etc cos the original master cylinder was weeping & the replacement piston etc that 'may' have fixed it was pretty expensive. Once again I used some KLR parts hanging around. I'm thinking of replacing one of the cylinders with a spare 650 barrel I have lying around. Just gotta get the grinder out to cut some cooling fins unless I can use a stock oil cooler as a radiator for it. It'll be a Schmidtenrock 1050 Heyyyy i think I have a spare KLr side stand lying around - that may solve my missing LHS crash bar problem.

I feel deeply honoured that you have dumped your load (1000th post) in the Gus thread.
Depends on who goes. Any way it runs I'll be leaving Friday, & have leave until Anzac day (Wed). If no one else goes with me I'll take the camping gear, & I may catch up with Clint & Rosie Friday night (cutting across Waipunga - assuming that Clint has adequate directions). Otherwise it depends on who wants to go. Got to get the Motu, East Cape, Waikaremoana in there somewhere. I thought your other Demon Spawn was back from Dunedin that weekend...

I have committed to painting the house for the last 5 years. I recently noticed the bits I started on are starting to deteriorate again. I have made limited progress because I am easily distracted when it comes time to doing this stuff. If I leave it any longer I may have to ...gasp... pay someone to do it. Boo hiss.

Yeah me too, had double cover plates installed on the corners today. Ran some cat 5 wiring up through the floor and picked up some ball valves over the weekend, plus stripped out some old unneeded aerial cable.
