Cool2 Skyclad's Southern York and Lancaster County Tour

After riding Racer43's Spring Adventure Ride, I was encouraged to do a similar type of ride. Hmmm, show off some of the gems from my area? Oh, OK, I guess I could do that.

***UPDATE***

So I did a test run today, and the route looks pretty good. Right about 140 miles. Most of the route is paved, but there is little on State roads. Mostly county and township type stuff. I was worried about the condition of the gravel/dirt sections with the torrential rain we had yesterday. Happy to say that my fears were unfounded. A few small washed out spots, but everything is good to go. Even the water crossings on Fishing Creek Road are doable.

Now for some details.

We will be leaving the Rutter's store in Wrightsville at 9am. The address is 201 Cool Springs Road, Wrightsville, PA.

The route will take us south along the east side of the Susquehanna into Maryland. Lunch and gas will be at Royal Farms, about 70 miles from the start. There is also be a rest stop at Susquehannock State Park.

After lunch, we will cross the Conowingo Dam and then make our way north on the west shore. There will be an extended stop at the Indian Steps Museum to give folks a chance to look around. It is a neat place. The tour will end in my driveway.

Figure on about 6 - 7 hours for the tour. The pace will be pretty mellow for the most part. There will be A LOT of turns and intersections, and it is not uncommon for the roads to run through the middle of working farms.

For those camping, please do not show up before 4pm. There is a restroom and shower available for use, as well as kitchen facilities. Bonfire will be held Saturday evening. If you did not get the GPS info, send me a PM for the coordinates. My phone number is (seven one seven) three two four - four three six three.

For those with allergies, be warned that we have two indoor cats and one large Yellow Lab. All are friendly and will want to say hi.

Why yes, yes they are. You have perhaps ridden Fishing Creek Road?

Since you are the OP of the thread, am I to assume there will be tagging involved?

Lemme know if you need some info for roads/trails in the Gap/Coatesville area, I know a few nice sections.
