Can I bring my son's XR50? I spent 550 on it but it's bone stock.

edit: I should have read further down the thread before replying. I'd me in for this no doubt!

And that's where the $500 limit comes in.

I'm guessing from Lk Pleasant...
Correct! The route looked about like this:

I think we're going to have to bend the rules to allow mini/pit bikes or scooters that people already have and don't mind abusing a bit.

Maybe there should be no limit on the budget, but no wheels bigger than a certain size. 14"? 16"? Something like that?

Awesome, thanks. If you're willing to do this mini trip this week, I think my gf will let me use her KE100.

Wouldn't you agree that, with this group, no matter what rules you put out they will most certainly be , um, bent?

I actually do like the idea of making it a bike we can fetch for $500 and below. A POS scrapped up with some ingenuity.

Can I ride in one of these?

This sort of thing just begs for it.

We have a very similar run in Central Alberta, BTW. I think the Vintage MC Club puts it on. It's called the "Frugal 500"

A few 300 lb guys on little 1960s 2cycle yamaha bikes.

Way safer than a beanie with a propeller on top. Those sharp edges can kill!

CK gumball rally

I like the idea. Maybe a small entry fee for some cheesy trophies. Mini offroad gumball rally.

Can someone here tell me if the 'back way' is the route that starts at/near lake pleasant?

I'm ready to go check out CK, but want to get a clue first.

There are quite a few routes to Crown King besides the way in from Bumble Bee off of I-17, which is considered "The Front Way" by most. The one most people call "The Back Way" does start near Lake Pleasant. Check out nsrides for GPS routes.

Ok, thx yardstick. I'd like to just explore there, but with travel time factored in to a day ride from Havasu, there isn't time.

I'm interested in riding my 990 thru Wickenberg to Pleasant, take the gnarly route up to CK, then maybe cruise down to Black Canyon City via the easy 'front way.' Then head home.

I'll check out those gps routes, thx again
