working on trying to make this event. I'm considering a plated 390 husaberg, would that be a good choice and would it need additional fuel capacity? Could also do a KTM 690. Is a day enough to get used to the altitude? I remember feeling like crap on top of pikes peak at least initially.

Berg would be a fun bike to have there, a MSR bottle or two in a back pack would be extra insurance for a long ride. I find 90-100 mile range is more than enough if you plan well. I'll be on a ktm 350exc with stock tank and don't plan on running out anywhere.
Trick to altitude is lots of water and take it easy on the booze....for the first day or two :)

thanks for the reply. I think I'll bring the 390. I'm going to start looking for lodging and expect I'll see you there.

In. I can't request time off at work for another week and a half, but shouldn't be a problem. I'm going to be scouting the area all summer, just to make sure it is worth riding, you know.
