is there a fix for squealing front brakes on this airhead? sounds like the pads are glazed to me, should i take them out and sand them? thanks in advance for any advice.

Did you just get the bike? Is it a new rotor or new pads? Sometimes certain compounds of brake material don't get along with certain rotors. Remove the pads and measure material thinckness. You could be at the end of you pads.

check the snowbum bmw site for some possible fixes on this. New pads do not always solve the issue.

Things to try include

anti sieze on the backs of the pads
good clean of rotors and check the wear limit
sanding, as you mentioned
rebuilding the calipers if you have a pad rubbing due to a bad dust seal or dirty pistons

I think I did all these, in that order, including buying new pads to finally get my GS quiet.

I had a R100 Mystic that no matter what I did they were noisy.

you can also give a rotor hone a shot, this will rough up the surface for new pads.
