I got a 135cm and a 158cm. I just went out and put the boards on my bike (KTM 950 adv) and it didn't look too bad. Im not heading out until two weeks. I will try put a board perpendicular to the bike and ride it locally. With the side bags on, the longer board pokes out only a couple of inches from each side. I will post photos.

Hey dfishman, look for two guys on KTMs around Avon who can't surf! How much is board rental per week? I just made a few calls with no luck. They say last year hurricane took away all the boards! They are waiting for new ones! ouch.

Little off topic here, but how do you get into kiteboarding? I see people doing it here in Brazoria county and it looks like a lot of fun. Outside of surf fishing, I would like another reason to go to the beach. Any tips?

BUT, i am searching craigslist for a baby carrier to pull behind my bike with kite/board /harness inside. i ight even use that one wheel thing that attaches to the back for kids to learn on. decided too that the goldwing won't do Mexico, so looking for a wee strom.

If you see people kiteboarding there is likely a school in your area. I would Google kiteboarding lessons and the area you live in to see the options.

Take lessons for sure. Kiteboarding is really fun and safe once you learn what to do, but it can kill you or permanently injure you if you try to learn on your own.

Also don't buy any gear until you've done your lessons. There is a lot of old crap gear floating around that you don't want to waste $$ on and that isn't as safe and easy to use as the latest stuff. By the time you are done your lessons you will have a better idea what gear you actually want for your local conditions.
