Versys/Wee-Stroms around Alabama
I've tired of my KLR650 and want to move to a Versys or Wee-Strom. I have sat on several and like both. Are there any owners out there that would be willing to let me take their 650 for a short ride so I can experience first hand how theses bikes ride? I've got full coverage insurance and I am not a crazy-a#$ in the saddle. I live 30 miles east of Birmingham and am willing to travel up to a couple of hours. If you can help me out, I'd appreciate it.

I'd be happy to help, but I'm not in the Talladega area. I have owned an 06 Wee and now own an 09 Versys. They are both very good bikes. The biggest issue I had with the Wee was wind management, but with the redesign, they are said to have corrected it. I prefer the handling...so far, of the Versys. Man the bike seems to intuitively go where you look. The Wees brakes are better. Economy is similar. Vibes aren't an issue with either. The Wee suspension is more supple. The Versys has a stiff suspension. Power isn't much different. The Wee is slightly faster, but the Versys seems to have a broader torque curve. You can get a Versys quite a bit cheaper, and being that you own a KLR, that's probably important to you.
