Where does the 3-wheeler fit in? And the 1950's golf cart?

Thanks again for the loaner on the ST. I've been searching the last couple days. That one you emailed me is still there...

Just my 2 cents........The 990 seems great 2 up to me. Full disclosure though........my wifey is 4ft 10 1/2 in and weighs about 93 lbs.(I'm 6ft and about 170lbs) It still has plenty of power and handles the weight fine. I crank up the rear preload a little and off we go. My luggage arrangement has a lot to be desired for 2 up, but other than that no worries !!
I personally don't think there is a better all around bike if you include off road.
BTW Hello to all ! Hope to see some DOGS around.

sold the 3 wheeler and the golf cart is a 2006 there sweetie and it is for neighborhood drunken transport.

Killer and all the other Ktm 2 up fans I have to disagree but then again I do not ride 2 up hardly at all but when I do
I will not take the 950 and truth be known I love my 950 for 300- 400 miles days of a good mix of roads but when the I ride it
is usually long high mileage days 500-700 and hands down the st is the ride for that. I have just decided that I am a weirdo
and my idea of riding is different then most so maybe my 950 opinion is a little strange but then again so am I

Coates,

I have your back. Agree with all your comments. The 950 is "tolerable" as a 2 up bike, but if my wife EVER sat on the back of a sport tourer, that would be the end of the 950 for her. I think this is true of any large DS bike. After spending a ton of money on an aftermarket seat for strictly 2 up riding, we can now survive a 200 mile day together on the 950.

However, I dont want to buy a separate bike (or ditch the beloved 950) for those rare occassions when she rides on the back. So... the investment in the custom seat is worth it because I get to ride the best bike for me for the 95% of the time when I ride solo.

Final and most dangerous comment: If your girlfriend or wife is young, limber and lightweight, then almost any bike is OK for 2 up. Not all wives fit this description...

Thank you all.
You're making the $3,000 F8 suspension upgrade sound really, really good now.

Dual Sporting in N. GA Fri-Sun

My wife and I will be up in N. GA for the next 3 days (probably camping at Wildcat Lodge) enjoying some Dual Sporting. I'll be on my 09 Husky TE610 with the big white Safari fuel tank and 8" Baja headlight. My wife will be on a blue/black XT225 with a blue Clark fuel tank. We both have luggage racks with soft luggage on the rear. Say hi if you see us!

There will be a good group of folks from the Chain Gang f650.com riding (what else) f650 singles up there at Wildcat. Look out for Coletrain on his yellow submarine. Sounds like they will have a nice setup and a few people from all over the US. I really wanted to join but alas work, family, etc. commitments this weekend. Might try to make it up Sat afternoon myself and camp one night. White F800GS. Safe travels.
