Carbs back on bike after rebuild. Running good once I figured out the carbs were way out of sync from previous owner.

Is it really that hard to remove the rest of the fairing? I have a RS fairing that I removed more times that I care to admit but it didn't take much time. I like these build threads but seriously, there isn't much to dropping the lowers.

I am just Putting up a few pics here and there till I get caught up to where I am on the project. Didn't want to just bombard the thread with 100 pictures to start. Here is one of the whole fairing off the bike. It only took 3 guys( a pastor, a snap on rep, and me) and 18 hours of wrenching.

Installed headlight brackets and clip-ons. Both were ebay purchases for a total of about 70$ Clip-ons fit at 36mm, but had to machine down to 22mm bars.Custom machined some sleeves to adapt the headlight brackets from 41 mm down..

Got everything back together, including the hella style bar-end lights. The grips are just temporary from wal-mart because I didn't want to cut holes in the original BMW ones. Anybody have suggestions on a nice comfortable grip?

Next up is a 3904 acewell, custom LED indicators, RFID ignition, and going to be building my own Lithium Ion battery pack. Stay tuned

Same here

Hey Riverdale, I'm doing the same thing on the same bike. Bought a 1983 R100RT, first airhead, and am tearing it down. It was in a wreck, so the fairing was cracked, windshield cracked. Unless somebody wants it, I'm leaving it in the trash bin. Anyway, couple of questions:
1. Was your original headlight mount welded to the frame? I thought I saw some grind marks on the front of your frame...
2. What headlight bucket did you go with, and are your stuffing that circuit board back in it, or doing away with it? It's a tangled mess in there...
