Thanks Kokopelli for your continued efforts. So I'm still in.
And for all of you- I sent a request to Maxton asking for suitability of their cartridge for the GS forks and the potential of at least 10 units to be purchased. I received a response from Richard- "Sorry we do not convert these forks, it is very difficult to fit our GP20 cartridge to these forks."
Ok, the wait continues

Erland.

so picked up a set of wilbers progressives .. Comes with generic directions ... so Ill ask a few dumb questions ...Which end is up the tight winding s or the big windings ? That make sense? ... I figure its pull the bars pop the cap remove stock spring and spacer ... put back it together .... or is it more complex ? stu

It doesnt matter which side is up on the springs, i think. Not much more complex than that, you might have to alter your spacer to get the right preload/sag dimension.

HFS anyone?

Hi everybody,

Have no GS (yet....) but I'm reading and reading about things that work good and things that need to be improved, and it seems that the fork is one of those things.....

Searching around I have found a Spanish company that has something for the GS's, there are very few comments on the spanish forums and some others in the uk one, all are positive btw.

Anyone knows/has those fork inserts or has any feedback about them?

They seem to be the only one in the market at the moments.

Ciao ciao

those look like air shocks and still left with OEM valving. Alters spring rate but nothing else I would assume.

We're still in the running. He has put a few cartridges together, is still talking about the springs, but I think it's going to happen. He has had had advice not to do Paypal. Apparently, he was told people could make up a complaint and could then retrieve their money. Anyway, he said he would do a one-off for us. Price is still the same, just to refresh, that's 10% off, but any additional cost like freight, tax and duty is your responsibility.

On springs, he wants the rider's weight and he has two different springs. Also let him know if you want a firm ride or softer. I'll pm people a code and then you can go ahead and put in an order. Don't send any money until he's got the Paypal thing sorted. I am trusting that people will be straight up.

Once the orders come in he can see where he's at. Don't order unless you intend to go through with it. But if you still want them, please order soon.

If I missed you out, just pm again. Finally, I am not sure how much closer we are, but this should get the ball rolling.

I've pm'd a lot of people, if I've missed you out and you want in, pm me back. Don't worry if you've changed your mind and don't want them, but please don't order and then change your mind.

I'd give him all the details. They can read and speak English, just wait for the Paypal set up. If he doesn't get that up and running, it's your own decision whether you want to transfer the money, but the deal was Paypal. Once the orders flood in, he can see that there are serious buyers.

Koko:

I think I'm out. I want the product but the guy sounds like a complete flake to me. Sending money and then taking our chances that we'll actually get a product from him seems iffy. And if we get it, it will be when he finds the time to make it happen. It's now riding season here and I won't be wrenching until the winter comes.

Again, thanks for being so tenacious with the process but I'm a little too risk adverse to send a bunch of $$ and wait 3/6/9 months for something to arrive. And then have it be the wrong spring or such.

Tom

That's Ok, I don't like that it's taking so long to get sorted. I've searched the net for info on this guy. Nobody has ever complained about his workmanship or product. However, some people have had to go through extended waiting periods to get what they wanted and got them pretty mad. We won't pay unless he is ready to ship.

I'm still in. I'll try to order (?) them less payment I suppose.

I sent a personal email to the address provided. Also asked about adjustment knobs as it appears they are not included. I didn't go through the web page for check out as I was unsure about how to proceed. I assume he just needs confirmation on the # of interested parties.

Thanks Kokopelli.
