We are back in the saddle baby! Well..sorta..there really isnt much prep left to do to the bikes so this will all be moving over to a ride report soon....however we have yet to introduce you to our transcoastal transportation!
Behold the mighty Astro van!............................... OK  ...Safarai van! This was the vehicle of choice! We were to put one bike on the front bumper, two inside..with 4 squashed "no u turners" and another bike on the back bumper! But...we had one guy decide to drive the TAT in a car....oh dear.....he pacified us with the knowledge that no one else has ever done it in a car! So, we sold the safari van and made $200! That will help pay for the fuel bill for the next machine which I just bought last week! Behold the Super Suzuki Sidekick!!  1991 model! Just look at all the room there is in the back for all our luggage!!  We might need a roof rack. Anyway 3 guys will be in the sidekick and 2 bikes will be in tow with this little gem!  That is til we get to Iowa where we pick up Jason and then 4 guys and 3 bikes.... Picked this trailer up on the cheap! just helped a friend put in a "solar tube" into his kitchen! What a deal! Tabs are good til april next year and i already found a buyer for $175 in South Carolina! We will drive to her house, unload the bikes, sell the trailer and ride into the sunset!  or maybe to the beach. Noah M screwed with this post 02-14-2013 at 12:59 AM |

Well I got the new handle bars on the DR!
No more left hand 3 inches closer to the fuel tank than the right one! Dont you just love symmetry?  Id also like to take a moment to thank an inmate here at adv who has sent me a pair of handguards! AKASY sent me a set of Acerbis handguards which have been on the TAT twice already! When im finished I'll have to pass them along to the next contestant and ad my name to the list of champions!  Thanks Sy! I'll also note here that I found a BBQ grill to take along...it comes in the form of a HUGE sissy bar!  Never saw a sissy bar on a dual sport! I'll have to rig a helmet for my back if i ever endo the bike!

Well we are leaving from Seattle to pick up Jason in Iowa...
I got a fuel filter installed on the DR today. and a 90* one at that!!  Strapped my walmart backpack to the front rack  Threw my $50 saddle bags over the seat  The airhawk for a bit of monkey butt relief  And the 5.8 gallon gas tank from an xr400 which just so happens to match up nicely with the dr350!  Add to that my free back tire courtsey of the bald tire pile in the back of the local bike shop  Outta get about 500 miles out of it anyway!  Another 1.5 gallons on the back  And we are all sorted and ready to ride baby!!  And our stickers came in the mail to plaster all over creation!!   Hopefully we will see some of yall out on the trail! Will try to update as we go but might have to wait till we are all finished...time will tell! maybe i should just start a new thread in ride reports since this one doesnt seem to be moved. Mods are busy I suppose. Keep the rubber down everyone! its 2 am and i just finished packing! lets get a-goin!

saw a couple of these guys in Oark, Arkansas at the Oark Cafe... my buddy and I were doing the arkansas to oklahoma part of the TAT over the weekend. We were very sad we couldn't join up and do the rest of the trail with them. BTW.. if anyone finds a florida tag on the trail, you can PM me.. lol =)
