Are Cal and Dovi allowed to pass Ben in his eyes??

Will he have a talking to Ben when he beats him?

JLo is an ass. He and porcellain-Pedrosa are little princesses that should stfu and race instead of bitching about that someone is trying to do his job out there: get the best position possible. Last season they both disgraced themselves with their attitude towards Simoncelli. A man's character has nothing to do with his ability to ride, but I sure as hell will not be hoping to see either of them winning.

Exactly. The first lap of a race is crazy until the tires warm up. Like I said, I'm sure that Lorenzo remembers Assen last year when Simoncelli took him out on cold tires in the first lap. He lost 15 points to Stoner in that race. Lorenzo doesn't express himself very well some times. I don't think he's saying 'don't pass' I think he's saying don't take crazy risks at the start of the race. You might ask Hayden how he feels about guys trying to win the race on the first lap, or in the first corner for that matter.

It makes sense, it's just not what I like to watch, and certainly not the way I race (not bikes- I'm too old).

Maybe Jorge's philosophy has something to do with why there's an Aussie with the #1 badge?
Seems to me the first 2 or 3 laps of the Big Bikes is when you can predict there might be some exciting racing, every time.
Sometimes there's a few battles in the back later on and maybe some nail-biting at the end if Stoner hasn't got the usual lead.
I love it all, don't get me wrong, but it looks like another year where Moto II is the one that gets my adrenaline running.
Cheers,
E

This sounds different after reading the story about JLo

Copied from Soup and written by Julian Ryder

"It happened again at the front row press conference this afternoon, although the Italian lady who asked it did first welcome Nicky back to the front row after an absence of over a year before asking why the other side of the garage was in such trouble. Nicky thanked her and then, with his most disarming smile, said "I haven't thought about it too much." A little joking with Jorge Lorenzo followed after the Spaniard was asked if he intended to follow someone in the early laps tomorrow if conditions were tricky. Nicky volunteered. OK, said Jorge, three laps then you let me past. Much merriment from Jorge and Dani Pedrosa. I don't know whether Nick thought he was being patronized or that things were getting a little too pally but there was that flash of steel as he snapped "First three and last three."

End of laughter."

I'd give him that benefit of the doubt if he wasn't consistently such an ass. You take risks, that's what makes a winner, and exciting racing. As soon as the lights are out, the race is on. That includes the first lap, and it definitely includes the first corner. If he has a problem with that, he should take up sewing.

I like close racing but I prefer it to happen at the end of the race. But it seems that in MotoGP if you don't run with the leaders on the first 2 laps you'll never make up the gap. So I totally understand the motivation to fight for a good position at the start of the race. Who want's to watch Pedrosa or Stoner get a hole shot and check out for the rest of the race? Like you say, the exciting stuff is happening at the start these days.
