Saints suspensions

Jonathon Vilma out for a year w/o pay. The three other perps are out on a sliding scale from half the season to just three games (Fujita).

My youngest brother is a paraplegic...reading that story hit close to home...The contract may well by symbolic since he isn't getting paid, but he has the last roster spot, a jersey and a helmet...and tons more motivation and personal support than he did before...

Way to step up, Tampa Bay.

Raven Linebacker Suggs out for season? Torn achilles tendon.

Terrell Suggs tears Achilles tendon, will likely miss 2012 season

Baltimore Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs tore his Achilles tendon while training in Arizona and is expected to miss the entire 2012 season.
The reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year suffered the injury one week after the Ravens took Alabama linebacker Courtney Upshaw in the NFL draft

I am not so sure there is not some potential left in Matt. I think he was better off with Gary...but we will see,

Grainbelt and Minnesota celebrate.

Vikings get sweetheart stadium deal

Quote:
Whoa, that was a close one.
Leave it to some penny pinching Minnesotans to make a couple of billionaires sweat it out. If Zygi and Mark Wilf had known it was going to be this hard to get a new stadium built in Minneapolis, they might have gone looking for some other taxpayer-funded trough to guzzle at.
They're going to get their new stadium, though, and what a place it should be. A billion-dollar palace downtown, smack on the same spot the Vikings play today, and loaded with the kind of amenities that make owning an NFL team so much fun.
The best part of it is they'll get it for next to nothing...

It was a classic shakedown, the kind the NFL is particularly good at. After years of thinly veiled threats about the Vikings possibly moving to Los Angeles if they didn't get a proper new stadium, Commissioner Roger Goodell put the hammer down last month with a visit to state legislators that jumpstarted what had been a stalled debate over how much taxpayers should cough up for the team.

At least it will be built downtown. Some unhappy land/business owners around the Arden Hills site am guessing.

Agree with above.

And how many of those taxpayers can actually afford to see a game?
