If this add is still up .... SOLD!!!:

1978 R100RS Naked (as a smooth 800cc). $3,500 obo.
Please read and feel free to PM me.

Frame is an original and straight (and well ridden) BMW R100/7, subframe straight and original as well. Frame is matching numbers with engine. The block has 125,000 miles on it (70's R engines routinely go 250,000 miles on the bottom end before they need new bearings). In the last 10,000 miles:
Tires: Front has about 3,000 miles left, Rear has 5,000 miles left
New Front End: The original ATE Front end just didn't stop well. I swapped it (and rebuilt the forks) with a 1983 BMW R series forks. This has twin Brembo front end and now stops properly. This came with a new master cylinder with stainless steel brake lines, and new throttle. It also has a custom aluminum billet top to the triple clamp which makes the ride that much more stable and sure. I bought some after market headlight ears to match the new brushed aluminum look to the bike.
Bars: BMW 'S' bars from a 1974 R90/6.
Heads, Pistons and Cylinders: The original pistons and cylinders had 116,000 miles on it, and to be honest, they were cooked. The entire top ends were swapped with a 1985 R80RT that had 19K miles on them. The pistons and connecting rods were balanced. The heads looked great (have the newer seats for unleaded gas). Now it's one of the smoothest R Engines you will ever hear or ride. I put slash 6 valve covers on it purely for the 'deco' look of them. The peanut valve covers just fit the bike better in my opinion.
Carbs: I tried to save the original Bings, but they were to far gone. I swapped them with Mikuni CV-32s. These were the Japanese 'standard' carb for all Jap bikes from the 1960's to the 90's. They are simple, easy to clean, and dead reliable. I think they have better performance off the line, but are very similar to the Bings at speed, and in fuel consumption.
Rear: All splines have been lubed and are in great condition.
Speedo: The speedometer is a new ACEWELL 2802 (http://www.acewell-meter.com/c0_1.php?pid=3&bid=11) . This is a smaller unit than the original speedo, but this one is completely digital, and all the warning lights work.
Tank: The tank is from a 1975 R90/6 Slash 6.. Is has a beautiful coat of paint on it, and the interior has been coated to prevent rust and be compatable with today's ethanol laced gas.
Seat: The seat is a Corbin designed to be compatable with the /6 tank.
Wheels: The wheels are the Snowflake wheels from the 1983 R series bike.
Transmission: It is the transmission is stamped 1979 . . .. So before I bought the bike, the transmission had been swapped with this one. It shows no sign of decomposition (no metal in the oil) , but I have no idea when it was swapped.
Final Drive: It retains the original 32/11 final drive. The splines were recently lubed and look great.
Luggage Rack: An old Krauser Luggage rack off an 1974 R90/6. It has a little rust on it, but it looks right.
Bags: The Bags I bought on craigslist from an old Shriner. They were on an old panhead that was used in the parades.
Other 'News': New Starter (Bosch), New Stator, New Diode Board (Rectifier), Oil Changed ~500 miles ago, New air filter, New Headlight bulb, New Points plate, Condenser, and Points, New Voltage Regulator, New Starter Relay, Timing Chain, New clutch, HGK Ignition Cables, and Bosch plugs.

Take a you tube tour: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tbQjG...ature=youtu.be

This bike is ready for 2 up riding from here to San Francisco. It will cruise at 75 mph all day long. It gets about 43ish mpg (depending on the strength of your wrist )

I have had many Airheads. I am currently 'going big' on a G/S project ... Since I got the '91 GS I simply haven't ridden this bike. It's time to pass her on.

Have questions? PM me. Thanks, Fred

1) This is a Crankcase Windage Tray that'll fit any year Airhead. Drill three holes, screw in place using red Locktite and you'll eliminate that last little bit of drag along with keeping the iol where it belongs. Current catalog price 49 Euro.

Sell for $50 + postage

Next item is probably the coolest engine cover I've ever seen!

If you want to remove your engines top covers, this jet cut aluminum cover will cover the entire cavity, leaving the breathers and starter body partially exposed.

It's a beautifully manufactured part that sells for 159 Euro ($200) How about $150.00 = shipping and I'll eat the cost difference and the exorbitant cost of internaional shipping?

Take em both for $200 and I'll pay the shipping to your address.

Thanks guys!
PM sent for aluminum parts

Trade /7 seat for RS Seat

I have a really clean /7 seat that I would be interested in trading for an S or RS seat.
Let me know if I'm dreaming or not.

Here is the only picture I have right now, I'll take more tomorrow to show the rust free seat pan.

Telefix fork brace for R80RT

Been cleaning out the parts boxes and came across this fork brace. I believe it's for an R80RT. It's got A4 on the underside and a google search came up with fitting this bike. This makes sense since many moons ago I had an '85 R80RT so I'm guessing I saved it. It measures 60mm across for the fork tube and 202mm center to center.

Cosmetics are good, no corrosion at all on the bolts so nearly showroom except it has two small nicks on top.
Current list price looks to be about $240, am asking $100 plus shipping.

I don't know how to insert pics so email me at: pcarnut@att.net and I can send you some.

Thanks, Roger

Love it. Pizz and moan for a few days and presto, Airheads flea market.

Just a tickler for someone particular about low miles original, registered and running fine Airhead. I am considering selling my 79 RS, blue/silver original 23k miles, with quite a few upgrades. Also Bushtec trailer. Fully in order for my rally use this year. Just got back from a 100 mile shake down ride and good for fly/ride to where ever you want.

Not a fire sale here. If you want 3 decades+ of Airhead experience and 15 years of commercial Euro shop experience for a PO, add up that kind of value, contact me via pmail, and I will schedule time for inspection. I won't even talk price until someone is prepared to do an actual evaluation.

Located in Spokane, WA.
