And I want to practice wheelies with Adventure Girl's 950. Will the stairs support a 1200CC trials bike?
Hey Doug, I'm meeting Mark and few others from the front range to ride down on Thursday. Want to join our little posse?

Hard to get my bearings from the pics, but it doesn't look rocky enough The overlook (where the powerlines cross the canyon) is about 4-5m West of the trail down to the river.

Not all that bad as best as I recall.
I recall someone...who's name rhymes with sigh ... posting that the closest they had made it from the plateau to the river was about 300 feet, straight down . I guess I will just have to take the pooch out there, hike the trail, and see for myself

So, the new dirt route was a total disaster. Maybe by next year I can work something out. Better to take frontage roads to La Bajada and hit the CDR area from there

The cafe opens at 8.

dirt

I've been trying to do that for years. Took Slojoe out to Placitas and we tried--got chased down by some locals in a car and asked what are you doing in here.
Another timeI got a local to ride with me who made me promise not to reveal the route to anyone, he got me to a point where I could see a route Slojoe and I had laid out coming toward Placitas from the Hollywood road. However, even if I got from Placitas to Hollywood it is still blocked by a fence on the other side of the road (La Bajada side) that Slojoe and I followed for several miles and could not get thru. We ended up comig across dirt back toward Hollywood and near I25.

Placitas Cafe?

Selaznog.....when you refer to the "Placitas Cafe", do you mean the Pinon Cafe by The Merc? Or is there another cafe around here that I don't know about?

Mike (Placitas)

I don't think I've replied to the "still IN?" - so, yes - still IN. And I'm planning on bringing a big pan of handmade dinner rolls, showing up Saturday afternoon.
