Custer's Last Stand Park is along your route and is worth the stop

Shout out for a really.good.vendor!

So, placed an order with MX1canada.com, and they have always been really good. Depsite the fact they are located on western canada, and the box needs to go through customs, things get here usually within 7-10 days.

Futhermore, today they emailed me to correct an error I haden't even realize I made!

Kudos!

Another good vendor story. My Scala G4 is just over two years old and also just out of warranty but they still replaced my unit for free and they were super fast....definitely impressed! I don't know what happened to it but it just stopped working after a small rain storm, it has been through many storms in the past with no lasting effects.

This week and next week we will try to finish off all our major service items on the bike with the biggest being the valve adjustment on the F650 twin...not looking forward to it. Probably in the same boat as Dave will be experiencing with the KTM 990 soon. I need to take a good hard look at the final drive on the Adventure this time since at the last fluid change the ABS sensor had a bit more metal stuck to it than previous times, probably nothing. Probably not a lot of big miles in the coming weeks as we get prepped and the bikes go into lock down about two weeks out. I figure two weeks is a good period of time since if I broke something I may not be able to get parts in and get it repaired in time for the trip. Preps continue...

Why is everyone so cryptic around here....

I'm having my tires for the trip put on by a shop in El Paso, about two hours from Deming. They are open on Mondays but closed Tuesdays. I've decided just to go with TKC 80s front and rear. I've also successfully made my reservation at the La Quinta in Deming.

I am under the impression we are leaving Deming on Wednesday and heading North. If so, I am going to spend Tuesday riding to the Mexican border and then up to I-10 on the CDR. We'll see if I can't get in some trouble before the trip officially starts

Eric

So, do share how to contact said shop?

Erik offered up to call the BMW shop in Albuquerque to see if they would open up or allow someone to come in Monday to change tires...no secret, she was just prodding Erik.

I'll PM you the shop name and number tomorrow--let me talk to him first. He was closed today and I've only exchanged an e-mail so far. He is on ADVRider and seems to host dual sport rides, so I'm thinking it looks good for a Monday afternoon tire change.

I'm still working, so I didn't call Sandia today but I would be inclined to give an ADV supporter the business. It would be a bonus if he's open on Monday.

You've confused me, but I'm watching the UFC and drinking beer, so it wouldn't take much to do so....
