Yours actually looks like the Explorer Lite but, I could be wrong.

These bags are fine in the rain with the rain cover on.

I used mine for my DSLR initially also - put some extra foam in the bottom to absorb vibrations. However, rough roads and Mexican topes were taking a toll on the lens so I put it in a more protected environment in my side bag.
