Well, when you ride the bike, do you spend more time at idle or with the engine running between 4-5K rpms?
I personally prefer the engine to run best where it runs most often.

Bike is a 2009 BMW RT with only 1900 miles. Sat in someone's garage for 2+ years and was never ridden. I bought it with 200 miles on it and the owner was nice enough to have the dealer do the 600 mile service before I picked it up. Any thoughts on what else I should do as far a maintenance goes?

Sounds normal for a bike that sat so long.

At idle balance is adjusted with the BBS (Big brass screws on the throttle body.), off idle, apx 3000 RPM the adjustment is made with the throttle cable adjustment at the throttle body.

Not on an R1200, there are no BBS on them.
