It was hot today. Passed a lot o bikes out there. Passed one on rt29 between paw paw and slainsville that waved. We were in the vette, was it one of you guys??
Not on the bike but at least it's still fun on the curvy roads. I think tomorrow we'll hop in the canoe and do some fishing.
Be safe out there everyone.

The length & angle of your swingarm & the overall gearing is gonna limit you (as will lack of ground clearance). Most people look for a sidecar final drive, same as the Moto Guzzi solution. For a decent one think $500+, after all the collectors have been picking the good bits up for many years now. And you haven't even gotten started on suspension...

3) As is you have a bike that will take the Wife many miles in comfort, and at a relaxed pace. Consider your trade up to "Near Goldwing" Status.

have fun, and there ain't a dang thing you can do about those silly cylinders hanging in the breeze...

Q: what does BMW stand for?

A: Bikes Made Weird

man thats a nice bike it must have been owend by a real cool dude

Britt does make some good points

that big beutifull faring doess block a lot of air that made it the bike of choice this past winter but would suck in this heat.
I was going to take the bottom faring off and the head light glass out and cut a foot or so off the windshield

good luck any direction you take it

Well I have 400+ miles on the Versys so far. Pushed alittle bit the otherday to see where it stands I let off at 128mph so I am very happy. Sorry I was running late Sunday and did not stop by the creek with it.

Is that part of the break-in procedure???

Must be time to gut the exhaust by now? That should be good for another 4-5 mph.

Enjoy it mate!

Cheers

Happy Memorial Day everyone. Thank you to those that have fought for our freedom, and to those who continue to do so. You'll always be remembered.

RIP Grandpa...

Small side note: I got my MC instructional permit last week. Can't wait to ride. Now if I can only find someone who'll let me on their bike... Heh.

Aw hell, that is clear on the other side of the state.
Buff might make ya a deal on a KLR, it would probably last you a lifetime.

Lasts him about 425 miles a rebuild

Yeah, where I live tends to make a few things a bit on the complicated side. Wouldn't ya know it...

I keep looking at KLR's, but seat height worries me a little. I'm around 5'7", so I'm not short, but still...

Everything I have here is pretty tall too. Just have to do like when we were kids, find a fence, stump or rock to jump on the bike from.
Then don't stop or get off until you get back to same, or another suitable mounting point.
Look for a TW200, good reliable bike with a low seat height.

Check out the KLX 250 its a nice ride but you would have to Jet it and a pipe. But of course if ya get an 07 or older KLR I have a set of 3 in lowering links you can have.
