New Heidenau K60 90/90-21 aggressive pattern AVAILABLE!
OK, so it isn't "new" its really the "revived" original K60 design, prior to Heidenau making the "new" K60 Scout.
Its a more aggressive pattern, blocks are spaced apart more and there are more open sections for better off road traction. Both of the 90/90-21 K60/Scout tires available now at $83 + shipping. I thought from my reading of reviews that those using the Hiedi fronts liked the "new" pattern over the old because it did handle better in the dirt?
This is a "return" of the "old" aggressive, isn't it??No I've confused myself.

Yes, this is a return of the "original K60 90/90-21" pattern to the US. Heidenau USA just imported a batch to statisfy the need for a more aggressive pattern for the 21" wheel. I have not ran the tire on my bikes yet so I cannot speak to the off road or on road characteristics directly.

so, you stock and can provide these anytime, or you just have 2 tires to sell?
Can you provide back tires as well? Have read of these, would like to try a pair on my 2009 KLR next time I need tires. Thanks

Yes, we stock the majority of the Heidenau line of tires, especially the K60 series. Yes we also have the rears available as well, size ranges from 120/80-18 to 150/80-18, also 140/80-17 and in June we will have the 150/80-17 K60 available again after the container arrives from Germany.
I have yet to run the K60A ("A" for aggressive in this conversation) 90/90-21 as the front tires on all our bikes are not ready for replacement yet. I have ran the K60S ("S" for standard in this conversation) on a KTM 950 ADV, it works well on street, is OK on loose gravel, begins to load up in the mud. Very predictable tire on hard surfaces. I can only assume that based upon the more open pattern of the K60A that it would do better on loose and muddy/slippery surfaces, however I do not have direct personal experience to back this up....yet.

We've got a 6,000km ride coming up soon with 3,500km of it off road (mostly gravel and possible slop if the weather turns wet) and I'm thinking of going with this tire up front as it looks like the best comprimise for something like this
What's the word on the K60'A' for something like this, anyone with an opinion if this is the way to go? |
